I teach various Horticulture and Arboriculture courses for professionals in landscaping and pest control. I prepare guidelines for the maintance and restoration of city maintained properties and right-of-ways in the field of horticulture and/or arboriculture. Plant ID- A course for learning plant identification. Taught for individualrs entering or already working in various landscaping or plant maintance fields. It is a must, for passing many of the required State Tests for certification. Arboriculture- A course for the instruction in the care/ maintance, preservation, identification of trees and for the evaluation of hazard trees. Landscape Design: This course helps the individual grasp the fundamentals of good landscape design. It incorporates evaluation of the existing site, drawing technique, how to relate to and advise your client and understand their desires and requirements for their property and how to interpret it, bringing it to a workable, satisfactory conclusion in a landscape design. Prep for State Tests- Preparatory courses reviewing the knowledge and requirements for taking State Tests for Certification in varied areas of horticulture and arboriculture including: Landscape Design, Setting and Maintance of Plants, Ornamental and Turf Pest Control, Tree Surgery. Prep for Certified Arborist Test (ISA)- A course that will help prepare the Arborist for taking the test to become an ISA Certified Arborist. Only someone with the understanding of ethical, professional practices in the art of Arboriculture and a well rounded knowledge of the subject will be prepared for the test. This course will set the student onto the correct path.
